En el campo de la Química se define “síntesis” al proceso de obtención de un compuesto complejo a partir de sustancias más sencillas. El proyecto Síntesis sigue esta definición de manera literal para realizar una pintura a través del dibujo.
La vídeo-instalación está formada por un vídeo y un lienzo pintado con ceniza en el que aparece representado el último frame del vídeo que lo acompaña. El vídeo muestra una sucesión de dibujos y anotaciones pertenecientes a mi propio cuaderno de notas. Observamos las hojas quemándose y cómo sus cenizas se acumulan paulatinamente en un plato. Los restos grises de estas páginas serán posteriormente molidos y utilizados como pigmento para pintar el cuadro.

In chemistry, “synthesis” is defined as the process of making more complex compounds from simpler substances. The Síntesis project literally follows this definition in order to make a painting through drawing.
The video installation is formed by a video and a canvas that is painted with ash and where the last frame of the accompanying video is represented. The video shows a succession of drawings and notes from my own note book. We observe how the pages burn and how the ashes are accumulated in a plate. The grey rests of these pages will later be ground and used as pigment in order to paint the canvas.
